If you met me for the first time you would have no way of detecting that I was probably gifted with the five principles of the Jewish Defense League in my heart and mind as a child and into adulthood and thus maintaining very similar reactions to anti-semitism in all it's vicissitudes and permeations as our late great leader and founder Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZT"L, HY"D as a young boy also had concluded in his heart of hearts as well at a pre Bar-Mitzva age. This of course is irrespective of the personal psychological impact that Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZT"L , HY"D had encountered in coming into the presence of another late a great Jewish hero of what may be termed as the first and foremost leader of Jewish armed resistance in the 20th century Ze"ev Jabotinsky, who was a close friend of Rabbi Meir Kahane's father, ZT"L, HY"D, Rabbi Charles Kahane, ZT"L, HY"D. [Vladimir Jabotinsky, 1880-1940, aka: Rosh Betar, aka: Founder of the Betar Youth Movement, Founder of the Jewish Legion, Founder of the Irgun, (Ha'Irgun Ha'Tziviai Ha'Leumi or National Military Organization) a participating founder of the Likud Party, (Israel Opposition Party), with former Israeli Prime Minister and commander of Betar in Poland, Menachim Begin or Herut in Eretz Yisroel, and what is commonly referred to; to this day as the Far Right or Opposition Party in Jewish politics especially in Eretz Yisroel but world-wide as well not excluding of limiting Rabbi Meir Kahane's, ZT"L, HY"D "Kach Party", when he was an MK (or Member of the Knesset).

For the puposes of accuracy as it especially applies to the times we are living in, in these early 21st century rumblings of major land givebacks to the Arabs in Eretz Yisroel for the so called peace process to stay on course with the viscerally anti-semetic United States Department of State, United States Department of Foreign Affairs and of course the Oslo and Wye Agreements. (IMHO, if Israel is just lucky there will be a relative cessation of hostilities. However, if Israel's gamble with the survival of the state as itself is actually successful it ostensibly lends mutual exponential economic, cultural and most importantly, safe and secure borders Israel can share with hopefully all 23 of her "unquestionably" sovereign neighbors). On said issues I am pessimistically cautious with regards to this incontrovertible insanity of giving away land for peace as the Israeli Parliament and it's Knesset members are obviously not heeding to the multitudinous admontions of Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZT"L, HY"D, that Eretz Yisroel is "The Jewish National Homeland and was specifically established for the Jewish people and non-other". This expression of Zionist philosohy originates to the first Zionist Conference in Basil, Switzerland in 1896 and the hopes and dreams of bringing the Royal Jewish Kingdom of Israel back into existence after 1900 years was envisioned in books, newspaper articles and numerous speeches that the late great author, orator, statesmanlike visionay Theodore Herzl, who did publish in the German with world-wide distribution entitled "Das Stat", which many say was the cause of "Aliya Aleph" (or the first Aliya to Eretz Yisroel) Jabotinsky, ZT"L, HY"D, had a slogan if not more famous than that of the Jewish Defense League's, "Never Again"; ("La'Olam La'Od"), Jabotinsky's slogan which he used as early as 1920 when his new Betar Youth Movement came on the scene in conjuction with the British governor at the time, Lord Balfour [later assasinated by the Stern Gang or the LECHI, (Lo'chamai Herut La'Yisroel) for breaking his promise, known as the Balfour Declaration of 1921, or "White Paper" on supposedly allowing Jewish immigration into then Palestine (Israel) to proceed without British interference. Lord Balfour additionally allowed thousands of Jews military experience by becoming part of the the Royal British Empire's, Zion Mule Corps. Thus the tone was set throughout Poland and Europe in general encouraging several additional major Aliyas to Israel as raging anti-semitism precipitated the establishment of the Jewish state for many of our 5760 years as a people and a race.

Due to Jabotinky's, ZT"L, HY"D, due diligence in promoting Jews to immigrate to Eretz Yisroel massive amounts of Jews made Aliya which irespective of medial limitation at the time of his tenure reahed across the globe. However, more particularly from Poland, Russia, Italy and most significantly as it would more appropriately apply to Eretz Yisroel being that of "Not One Inch", regards to the reclamation of Jewish lands occupied by both the Arabs (and the Royal British Empire) on what was and continues to be the prevailing Far Israeli Right ideology that once these lands wrongly referred to as Palestine were reclaimed back to the Yushav or the Jewish communities which both biblically and legally belonged to the Jewish people in Eretz Yisroel. Even if Jewish blood, sweat and tears be spent, (b'dam va'yesh), not one inch of Theodore Hertzl's "Jewish National Homeland" or Israel, shall remain a non-negotiable issue once attained by legal transfer of of property, settlements or from the spoils of war that Israel unfortunately endured with more than 25,000 IDF, KIA's, and 300 MIA's since Israel was estblished a state and for the defense of the "Greater Lands of Israel" or Mamlechet Yisroel].

It first occurred to me that being Jewish was special in the pride my parent's took in their numerous repetitions to my sister and me of what it took each of them to escape and evade capture from the Nazis in Poland both before and during the actual declarations of WWII as we know it and the terrible and the infamous "Final Solution" almost designed with machine-like precision and timing by Adolf Hitler and his cohorts of Unit 4B4 of the Third Reich's "Jewish Office" under the command of Adolf Eichman.

From my humble beginnings as a young Jewish boy growing up in the Bronx I must confess that the Zionist Revisionist philosohies that I came into contact with from my old friends Barry Topf and Philip Pulver who were both members of Betar from the age of 11. Wearing their sharp navy blue Betar Youth Movement uniforms so proud, (they both made Aliyah), I really had something to think about, something that hit me in the head like getting hit by lightning. I knew by looking into their enthusiastic faces this is something I want to be part of, this defines what I am all about. As opposed to my primordial concerns that my Spalding Brand stickball would break a car window or go down the sewer pipe and I would have scrounge in desperation to get a quarter to replace it so I could play some more stickball in the schoolyards of the Bronx.

After all, before I joined the Betar Youth Movement in New York on Nassau Street in Manhattan at the age of 12 in 1967, to me being Jewish as Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZT"L, HY"D, would say time and time again rang too true in my case in "Making some caterer rich and happy when a Jewish boy or Jewish girl were to celebrate their Bar/Bas Mitzva". Coming from the Conservative Jewish background I came from and never attending a Yeshiva anywhere except regular hebrew school in the Bronx (NYC-USA), I decided that when I factored in the incomprehenible life my parents experienced in Europe and never hearing the end of it throughout my childhood I had premonitions that eventually something like the Jewish Defense League, (Ha'Lega Le'Hagana Ye'hudit), was inevitable in the historical time-line. Not only was I right that someone was going to emerge and establish what Rabbi Meir Kahane, ZT"L, HY"D, did, after being two years in Betar under the leadership of Barry Liben (who made Aliyah), the same year the Jewish Defense League was established, but as the fourth member to actually fill out an application for membership and having been in Betar, I became fast personal and close friends with Rabbi Meir David Kahane, Ha'Kohain, ZT"L, HY"D, as he was very pleased that I was indeed a Betari as he was when he,(OBM), was a kid into his teens also as I. As one of his very first loyal active members of the new Jewish Defense League from May, 1968 through the day his life was lost in the battle for Jewish rights and Jewish survival I hardly missed a day doing many of the thousands of things the Jewish Defense League had to do until that horrific Monday evening, on November 5th, 1990 in the Sheraton Hotel on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, (NYC-USA). The trauma I suffered from that irrevokeable loss of Rabbi Meir Kahane's, ZT"L, HY"D, assassination by El Sayid Nosair, was indeed the direct link to my disenegaement to the Jewish Defense League ad I felt too stricken by this grave personal loss of my friend and leader to continue on in the Jewish Defense League in any useful capacity. I therefore resigned my commission as an officer and a leader in the Jewish Defense League until I decided enough time had passed so I could heal. I have been out of active duty from the Jewish Defense League since said tragic occurrence and currently am a pre-paid member for several years into the future. I currently am a member of the JDL Board of Directors.
