JDL Chicago Celebrates Jewish Culture at Chicago's Jewish Festival

If you are in the Chicago area, be sure to attend the 2006 Greater Chicago Jewish Folk Arts Festival this Sunday, June 11. The Chicago chapter of the Jewish Defense League invites all attendees to stop by our booth -- just look for the big blue and white JDL banner!

This will be the first time in several years that JDL has made an official appearance at the festival. We will have a variety of JDL merchandise and literature on hand. Also, new and renewal memberships will be accepted at the booth, says Chicago JDL chairman Sholom ben David.

The festival, which celebrates Jewish culture in America, will be held at the Forest Preserve at Oakton (8000 N) and Lehigh (6300 W) in Morton Grove from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (In case it rains, the festivities will take place at Niles West High School in Skokie.)

Making a special guest appearance at the festival will be the beautiful and talented singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb. Joining Loeb will be the popular Jewish rock band, Blue Fringe, along with the Urban Tunells Klezmerband, making its first American appearance all the way from Norway.
