Roseanne One of the most powerful women in Hollywood, Roseanne is a most sensitive, caring and committed Jew. Her talk show, as we predicted, is doing very well and has been renewed for a second season. In case you didn't know, Roseanne is a vocal and dedicated supporter of the Jewish Defense League. For this we are grateful and most proud.
David Brenner We've been enjoying David Brenner's humor for years, but we didn't realize his excellent "fight back" attitude until we got a hold of a copy of his 1983 best-seller, Soft Pretzels With Mustard. If you click on the link, you'll be able to read an excerpt from the autobiography of this nice Jewish comedian from Philly.
Fran Drescher
That fancy girl from Flushing, "Nanny" Fran Drescher is so very Jewish -- and we love it! (We are so proud of you, Fran; you've never hidden your Jewishness.) Drescher is funny, bright and gorgeous; if she just lost that annoying accent, she'd be perfect. If you'd like to see some more images of stunning Fran and the latest news about her, check out The First Fran Page.
His hit T.V. show may have ended its run, but Seinfeld is still on top of the world; he's mega-rich and looks much younger than his 45 years. We like Seinfeld because he has shown audiences and other comedians that one does not have to be a foul-mouthed, dirty-minded smartass to be funny and popular. We hope Seinfeld continues his nice vacation from show business for a while and then comes back to his adoring fans!
Debra is the youngest daughter of Orthodox Jewish parents. When she graduated from high school at age 15 (!), she hopped on a plane to Israel and applied for citizenship, joining a Jewish youth brigade to show her deep Zionist feelings. Debra later returned to dazzle the industry (and us) with her great talent for acting. She has two sons, Emmanuel and Noah, and is expecting another baby soon. She's pictured to the right in her first role as Wonder Woman's little sister on TV. We think she's still quite wonderful.
David Schwimmer
One of the stars of the hit TV show "Friends," David Schwimmer has been one of the most frequently nominated celebrities for this page. The son of two attorneys, Schwimmer is a graduate of Beverly Hills High School and Northwestern University. Liked for his sensitive and romantic image on the show, he seems like such a nice Jewish boy, too.
Jennifer Grey
P.S. We like her old nose better!
Jason Alexander
When it comes to talent, Jason Alexander certainly has been blessed. He deservingly has won mass critical acclaim and a multitude of acting awards for almost every part he has ever undertaken. Whether he's co-starring in Seinfeld as the neurotic George Costanza or the voice of Hugo the gargoyle in Disney's new animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (please, no lectures about the Christian overtones of the movie), Jason is a hit with us. |
