I write these words with a broken heart. The leaders of Israel are blind but act like they can see. The land of Israel cries out in defense of G-d's Word but Israeli ears, deaf to the Spirit of G-d, cannot hear. The G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not Israel's G-d; high tech and the good life of the West are worshipped. The voice of the prophets does not get Israel's attention; the voice of profit does. The only One who can preserve Israel is given lip service; the ones who detest Israel are sought and honored.

But what will Israel - a people G-d has made my own - do when it all blows up in their collective face? Four thousand years as a people. Two thousand years of wandering in the pagan lands with the resultant Inquisitions, Pogroms, and Holocaust. Regathered in 1948 and kept alive in a tiny land that California swallows up 16 times. Texas 26 times, Iran 80 times, Iraq 20 times, Syria 9 times, and the Arab League 485 times. A land only 280 miles long, 50 miles wide that Israeli leaders now retreat from as if they stole it. And they don't even own it! No Jew does. No Arab does. G-d said, "The land shall not be sold forever; for the land is mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with me." (Lev. 25:23) So He gives it back to His covenant people after 1900 years of pagan misrepresentation and His people hand it to their enemies! All in the name of "peace!"

But what "peace?" Without G-d's future intervention, Israel's destruction would be certain. She believes in the wrong "friends." 1) Lebanon's Muslims will never accept Israel. 2) Syria detests Jews and feeds on weakness. 3) Jordan and Egypt will ride with their brethren when the time is ripe to attack Israel. 4) Arafat hates Israel's guts and wishes them spilled. 5) The U.N. would weep at Israel's funeral but shake hands at the party held afterward. 6) Europe's engines can never be converted from the use of oil to Jaffa orange juice. 7) The USA is the leader in the reduction of Israel to an indefensible position. 8) Israel's Arabs will turn on Israel's Jews. 9) American Jews living in their perceived "real promised land" of New York, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles will pay lip service to Israeli survival while they agree with Israel's enemies that "Israel must make concessions for peace." 10) Most of Western Christianity will look the other way, just like 60 years ago.

But G-d is neither silent nor inactive. Listen to His plea to Israel past - and apply it to the present: "The ox knows his owner... but Israel does not know, my people do not consider... your land, strangers devour it in your presence... Except the Lord had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom and... Gomorrah." (See Isaiah 1:3-9) The G-d of the prophets - of the Fathers - of heaven and earth - of Israel - will not allow the Jews real peace while the blind lead the blind. He offers sight - and peace - when His people seek His Scriptures and His Messiah. And anyone who says otherwise is both arrogant and deceived!
