In early July 2009 JDL came to the defense of a new member, Paul Simon, who believed he was being victimized in Santa Barbara traffic court for being Jewish and outspoken in his defense of a baseless ticket. Here is Paul's video thanking JDL Los Angeles for being present at the court, a presence which he credits with contributing substantially to the positive outcome he obtained.

Note: This video should not be construed as a claim that Paul was necessarily discriminated against by the traffic court because of his religion but only that discrimination may have occurred.
