CUPE union votes for academic boycott of Israel (Tornoto Star)

“University workers in the Canadian Union of Public Employees have passed a controversial motion calling for an academic boycott of Israel. . . . “Our fear and our concern is that there could be violence against Jewish workers,“ said Meir Weinstein, national director of the Jewish Defence League of Canada, which is considered a radical group. “Wherever there are calls for a boycott of Israel and the Jewish state, there is violence against Jews.“
