I thought I knew what it meant to be a member of the JDL.  I’ve studied the teachings of Rabbi Kahane.  I believe much of what he had to say.  But at the same time, I am constantly confronted with racism by those who claim to be Kahanists.  Here is a quote from Facebook on the JDL page:

We aren’t racists! You can be sure this is a troll who said he is a Kahanist, but isn’t one. Don’t care about those people.

Shlomo,  It seems obvious that the person who wrote this on Facebook was just trying to get a rise out of people.  Maybe this kind of material should be deleted from the JDL Facebook page because it does not speak for me as I am not a racist person.

Yes I know Achi but you be the better Jew an let that slide off your back.  I am speaking to myself too.

Racism has no place in our movement, but it’s important to remember that most anyone can post most anything on the Internet if they want to. Regarding the raghead reference, it’s wrong to treat other groups in that fashion. However, it’s also understandable that many decent Jews are sick and tired of Arab terrorism, radical Muslims, their agendas, propaganda and behavior. Sometimes in the heat of arguments people will say things that are far harsher and unrefined than they normally would. It is our experience that most who want to be part of JDL are upstanding people.
