Bringing More Site Sections Online

We’re hard at work at the long overdue but resource intensive process of bringing more of the currently “in development” sections of jdl.org online. JDL has a goal of getting 80% of our site sections online within the next three months, which will include some restructuring and consoiidation of our site sections. We recently updated Israel Today & Always and Boycott Busters, with powerful new articles pending publication within days.

On another note, our target for the launch of our new email contact/support ticketing system has clearly slipped. We want to ensure before lanuching it that it will work well at launch and fit the needs of our leadership, members, supporters and general public. After our new support system is up and running, our next online priority will be to restore our online store’s functionality, while we plan concurrently for regional and national leadership conferences. We’re working on many fronts to make the year 5772/2012 a banner year for our movement and the cause of Jewish defense, BS"D. Stay tuned for more.

Jewish Girl From Belgium Attacked

Ynetnews reports about a young Jewish girl from Belgium who got used to being called a “Dirty Jew” by Muslim classmates. No Jew should ever get used to being called a “Dirty Jew.“ The young girl speaks of the fear she has about walking on the street after being humiliated and assaulted:

“Dirty Jew – go to your country,“ they told her, grabbing her hair and slamming her head against their knees. Then they just left her there, at the sports center, not far from the school, while those who witnessed the incident quickly ran away.

The fact that this innocent Jewish girl became accustomed to Jew-hating verbal and physical abuse is not only tragic, it’s an attack on Hashem. As the Torah teaches, when Jews are victimized, G-d Himself is also a victim since we are His nation, carry His name and are His emissaries on this earth. As when Goliath was taunting the nation of Israel and the men of the country were all intimidated, King David saw Goliath’s taunts as not only an attack against the people of Israel but most importantly as an intolerable insult to the G-d of Israel. When Jews are publicly confronted by manifestations of Jew-hatred and fail to fight back, the L-rd is defamed along with our people. And obviously, not fighting back sends a powerful message to the haters and like-minded individuals that such conduct will be tolerated without consequence, most likely leading to more and possibly intensified forms of Jew-hatred in the future.

Certainly this isn’t the gravest form of attack that Jews are experiencing today, but it’s a story that has garnered international attention especially as it ties in with the recent deplorable ghetto-mentality comments of Obama’s ambassador to Belgium, who blamed the state of Israel (the victim) and the death of the Oslo “peace” process (murdered by Arab terrorism and intransigence, among other causes of death) for Muslim Jew-hatred in Belgium. The League will post an analysis of that pathetic story soon.

Regarding this particular manifestation of Jew-hatred, JDL wonders where the girls parents have been and why they haven’t been more proactive in resolving the situation. And how will Jewish leaders in Belgium respond to the growing systemic Jew-hatred among the Muslim population there? Rhetorical question-the Jewish Establishment there will do what the Establishment does the world over in fighting Jew-hatred-precious little.

The most effective response to this growing Jew-hatred malady in Belgium is a reestablished JDL chapter there and elsewhere in Europe. JDL will begin organizing in Belgium again in earnest, first at the squad level and upward from there (chapters, national leadership and coordination with our other chapters in Europe). A Newsweek article worth reading: My Life as a White Supremacist

Matthews divulged the secret he had harbored for two decades: while his family thought he was hiding from the law, palling around with white supremacists and other antigovernment activists, he was working as an informant for the FBI, posing as an extremist to infiltrate more than 20 groups in an effort to thwart terrorist attacks.

Betraying the publication’s left-wing bias, the article repeatedly refers to white supremacy as a “right-wing” extremism. The article’s claims should be evaluated with that bias in mind, but this is an important story with relevance to Jewish defense.

New Contact System Opens Next Week

This powerful support ticketing system will give JDL the ability to finally manage the large volume of mail we receive from leaders, members and the general public, route messages to appropriate divisions/leaders and track conversations from first contact to resolution. A new feature of jdl.org will be a bi-weekly round-up of the best Jewish news articles, opinion pieces and videos found online. The explosion of citizen social media and the empowerment of the individual it provides has opened up a wealth of content on important Jewish concerns. Yet, it’s difficult to keep up with all the important stories and views that are constantly being published. Most significantly, we have seen in recent times an explosion of Jewish conservatism online, with more and more Jews awakening to many of the truths JDL has been advocating for more than forty years.

JDL will assist you by summarizing and linking to the best Jewish content you can get on the web. We’ll also be highlighting general interest content that has special significance to the future of Jews and Judaism. This new feature is just the start of what, BS"D, JDL leadership has planned as a major initiative of expansion and growth in the new year 5772, which will include long planned initiatives like the rebuilding of our Street Squads and a planned national leadership conference to be announced soon.

PA Declaration & The Coming Storm of Jew-hatred

A number of potent forces of Jew-hatred have been planning for quite some time for this month, September 2011. In violation of numerous international agreements (which only Israel has ever lived up to), the PA plans a unilateral push less than two weeks from now on the 20th for statehood recognition by the UN and sovereign countries. A number of countries, including the rising superpower to-be China, have openly communicated their support for this campaign. And given the problematic record of the current US administration on Israeli relations, Israel cannot even fully count on the United States to oppose this threat.

Make no mistake - this is a serious threat not only to Israel and Israelis. It is a threat to Jewry worldwide. Even if the problem were localized and contained only within Israel, the ramifications would still be considerable for all Jews. Even if it were so contained, the pain of one Jew should be felt acutely by all of us, as JDL has always taught. Likewise, all decent Jews should care about threats to the sole sovereign Jewish state that has struggled for decades to hold on to limited sovereignty over the Land of Israel. But even those Jews who feel completely disconnected from Israel should know that the firestorm to be set off against Israel could directly threaten the lives and property of Jews in all other countries. Jew-hatred is on the rise in many quarters of many societies to a degree liikely unseen since the build-up to the Holocaust.

Jews must prepare for the worst while hoping and praying for the best. In the coming weeks JDL will open a new section of our site on personal defense preparedness.

Jew-hating Anti-Circ Prop. Tossed Out

A major victory for religious liberty against the tyranny of the Jew-hating radical left was achieved last week when a San Francisco judge disqualified the so-called “MGM” anti-circumcision ballot proposition. Both the judge and the legal department of the city of San Francisco spoke out against the proposed ban, pointing out that it would undeniably violate the US Constitution (falling under the most suspect “strict scrutiny” legal standard of Constitutional law) as well as state law. In tossing the ban from the ballot, the judge noted that because it would be illegal to violate the doctor-patient privacy protection in law, the ban would only apply to ritual circumcision and would therefore be an impermissible violation of religious 1st Amendment rights as well as such rights recognized under California law.

The vile, penis-preoccupied individuals calling themselves MGM have a cast a long shadow, disproportionate to their puny size, through their propaganda efforts and their abuse of the democratic system. Most troubling, this entity has unabashedly published some of the most despicable, transparently Jew-hating, anti-Semitic comics on circumcision, in which disgusting stereotypes of rabbis are depicted, playing the role of demonic penis cutting high-villains. Meanwhile, the hero, “Foreskin Man” is a clearly Teutonic looking figure who seeks to literally abduct infant boys before their circumcisions. These cartoons would make Nazi propagandist Goebbels, יש“ו, himself beam with pride.

Their own propaganda out them in a way that cannot possibly be doubted: These demented individuals hate the Jewish people and are targeting them specifically in their crusade to ban the mark of the covenant that has faithfully been sealed in our flesh since our father Avraham Ha’Irvi walked with G-d 4,000+ years ago.

Thankfully, however, in this instance, the American legal system has worked preemptively to protect religious rights. Jew-haters and perpetrators of genocide against our people throughout the ages have favored bans on circumcision to inflict spiritual torture on vulnerable Jewish populations. Bans on circumcision have also, throughout history, often been a prelude to physical mass-murdering of Jews. This recent decisive legal victory will hopefully serve as a strong deterrent to the MGM cretins and any other forces that would work in this country in pursuit of a ban on Bris Milah.

And in a rare dual victory, not only was this evil force preempted in San Francisco, their ban also failed to make the ballot in Santa Monica, California, according to Fox News. JDL was preparing to actively confront MGM at various forums later this year if their proposition made it to ballots. JDL has been reporting on and defending against this threat for some time and will continue to do so, but at least for the time being we have decisively won against the evil heathen forces who seek to oppress our holy, mandatory divine service of male circumcision. And by the way, health experts in the US and around the world are nearly unanimous in their support of circumcision for its substantial health benefits.

Gert Wilders Found Not Guilty of Hate Speech

In a great victory for all believers in freedom of speech and all those concerned about Muslim encroachment on those freedoms globally, outspoken anti-Muslim Dutch politician Gert Wilders has been acquitted on all five counts of anti-Islamic hate speech. This hopefully marks the beginning of a reversal of a very negative, anti-speech trend in which speech critical of Islam or Muslims has been repressed in some quarters.

Countries with strong democratic protections of freedom of speech must not carve out narrow exceptions to their free speech protections for certain categories of people. Muslim interests have sought out such free speech carve outs to give their religion protection from criticism - both legitimate or illegitimate. Muslim pressure groups in western countries have tried to squelch anti-Islamic speech, to pressure individuals, corporations and governments to censor speech they deem offensive to Islam. Hypocritically, much of these forces believe Muslims should have the open, unrestricted free speech right to denigrate the religions of others. Various forms of media have been wrongfully censored. Of course, radical Muslims sometimes haven’t stopped with non-violent forms of speech repression. Dutch cartoonist Theo Van Gogh was murdered by a Muslim terrorist for exercising his right to criticize Islam.

JDL leaders were confident that Wilders would be acquitted of these charges. JDL Canada has held solidarity rallies in support of Wilders. JDL doesn’t agree with Wilders general anti-religion stance, but we respect his right to believe what he wishes to believe and speak honestly about his beliefs. It’s a very good sign for free speech globally, and it sends the right message to the enemies of free speech. Muslims who don’t understand free speech need to realize that their religion neither deserves nor has entitlement to special exemptions shielding it from criticism.

JDL NY Gets Nazi Fundraising Pulled Again

The Jewish Defense League of New York is proud to announce that it has once again shut down Nazi activities online. The National Socialist Movement’s (NSM) Wisconsin Chapter was supposedly fundraising for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis on the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) website and building a team to participate in a benefit walk in Milwakee. JDL NY took the opportunity to notify the CCFA that Neo-Nazi’s were attempting to fundraise and gather support on its website. They swiftly took action, and removed the fundraising capability of the NSM Wisconsin page on their website as well as removed them from the June 5th walk. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the CCFA for their cooperation and all of the those who suffer from this disease. This victory comes several weeks after we shut down NSM WI activities in a similar situation with the American Cancer Society.

Beck Stands With Israel; JDL Stands With Him

Standing boldly, unabashedly with Am Yisrael, Glenn Beck sent out a call weeks ago to stand with Israel this summer and specifically to join him for a rally in Jerusalem this August. Beck has his critics in nearly every circle and even among right-wing Jews, but JDL finds little of substance to be critical of regarding him. We believe his impassioned, emotional oratory to be genuine, and we can’t see any valid reason to spurn his support in any respect. The most common reason why a Jew would be critical of a Christian’s support of Israel would be because of Christian eschatology (end-times beliefs), which can possess some Christians to support Israel not genuinely but based instead on ulterior motives. Even though it’s perfectly reasonable to skeptical of his support because of his Christian eschatological views, his personal religious beliefs that conflict with ours are not sufficient grounds to reject his assistance to the Jewish people and the Jewish state. In this debate, we often make the point that if a Christian wants to support us, it doesn’t matter if he or she has ulterior motives based on eschatological beliefs that are antithetical to Judaism. Their end-times beliefs are inconsequential to us because we know their expectations will not be fulfilled, but their support of Israel is of consequence and should not be summarily dismissed.

On another front, some right-wing Jews have chosen to attack Glenn using the same hollow arguments as those put forth by the Left, including calling Beck a Jew-hater because he often criticizes high-profile left-wingers who happen to have been born Jewish, like George Soros or Edward Bernays. The League believes that anyone on the Right who espouses left-wing talking points against Beck is being used as a tool by leftists, leftists who in truth are much more substantially anti-Jewish and anti-Israel than Beck any day of the week. And yes, we are also aware that a while ago on his TV show Beck made some inappropriately sectarian Christian comments that denigrated Jews for rejecting the Christian deity, but we think he’s come along way since then. He’s more respectful toward Judaism, ostensibly, and he even recently admitted that there’s a good chance that Judaism could be right and Christianity wrong. Perhaps Glenn is only pandering to Jews in recent times, but even if that were true, it doesn’t negate all the positive things he does publicly for Jews and Israel. That solid track record of support can’t be denied.

Beck is broadcasting right now, as this article is being written, with extreme emotion over the Holocaust, the plight of the Jewish people generally and the evil forces amassing to battle us today. One would have to be extremely cynical to presume that his apparent heartfelt emotion is an act of deception. To the contrary, the presumption must be that Glenn is a stalwart ally of ours, a righteous non-Jew beloved by G-d. JDL is looking at options to join him in Yerushalayim in August, although with the short notice we may have trouble allocating the resources to be there with him. Either way, we call on our members and supporters to be there with him spiritually and to stand with Israel wherever we are on August 24th. To be bold in confronting the haters who are looking to make the push to damage, if not destroy, the state of Israel this year, C"V. At this dangerous juncture we all must echo Beck’s call to be resolute and courageous in standing in defense of Am Yisrael. Ultimately HaShem is in control of His creation and will do with us as He chooses, but we will not be held blameless if we fail in our task to fight evil and sanctify HaShem in the face of the nations and even fellow Jews who wish to eradicate us.
