Cast of Characters by Meira Bat Avraham The Christian missionaries and their apostate Jewish cohorts are extremely active in their evangelical efforts online. Chat rooms are regularly opened for them to discuss and share their concepts of G-d, Judaism, and life and death and sin. One of the most venerated of these individuals is Moishe Rosen, the Rosen is now old and suffering, according to the Jews for Jesus website, from diabetes and narcolepsy. In his semi-retirement, he often goes online on America Online under the screen name Mity Mo. Here, he ignores challenges from countermissionaries for debate, puts hecklers on ignore, praises the Lord incessantly, and declines to enter into much, if any, dialogue about Judaism. He insists that he is "Jewish by heritage", although he admits he is not Jewishly observant. He accuses countermissionaries of being "phonies," requests that they fax him their resume, and has, on at least one occasion, interefered with the professional life of one of the activisits with Jews for Judaism, the leading countermissionary movement in Judaism. Mity Mo was thought to be a rather harmless old fellow, resting comfortably in his easy chair, until Easter Sunday of 1997, when he suddenly made certain statements which indicate he is either completely ignorant, is a Holocaust "revisionist," has accepted Nazi propoganda, or is insane. You decide: I. Discussion re: the meaning of the term "pierced" in prophetic scripture: Sma61: I'm thinking, flyer, of all of the baby Jews who were thrown in the air Drjack100: Hi rev Mity Mo: His peace passes all understanding. Sma61: and impaled on bayonettes. They were pierced. Sma61: If the messiah had come already, this would not have happened. Drjack100: sma-now your talking sick and disgusting Sma61: No, I'm talking pierced, Dr.J. Mity Mo: Oh Sma61 please no more atrocity stories. That was Japanese soldiers in the Phillipines. Flyers633: how you will be suprised when messiah comes Camoflge: hey Drj you are the ones obsessed with blood sacrifices Mity Mo: Nazis used Jews for target practice. Drjack100: He came first as in Isaiah 53 to free us of our sins, next coming to bring in the Kingdom Flyers633: the spanish inquesition Sma61: I'm gonna tell Elie Wiesel that next time I see him, Mity Mo. He'll be Camoflge: guess they were being punished for not believing in Jesus huh Mo? Sma61: most suprised to hear that nazis did not impale Jewish babies. Sma61: What, the messiah has to come twice? Flyers633: the nazis killed jews who turned to xians too Mity Mo: Babies never made it into the concentration camps. Nursing mothers and babies went first to Drjack100: Jews committed atrocities after the Macabees, this proves nothing Sma61: Isaiah 53 probably refers to the nation of Israel, but even if it refers to an Sma61: individual, it does not refer to the messiah. Mity Mo: the gas chambers. II. Discussion re: Hitler's plan Mity Mo: Hitler was just defending the borders against polish aggression. Mity Mo is not the only whacko in the group. Recently, AOL member sma61 had a conversation online with "Rabbi" Alan, who is a messianic "rabbi" online. Rabbi Alan claims to have been ordained by the Holy Spirit, rather than any seminary. His expertise includes the fact that he has "studyed [sic] Torah alot." However, "Rabbi" Alan did not know most of the laws of Torah and, when questioned by user sma61, professed his admiration of the fact that she is so "scollared." Another example of the ignorance of these "Jews" who believe in Jesus is evidenced in the following excerpt from a chat room, in which a traditional Jew was questioning one who claimed to be messianic: WGee1: r u torah observant rpm? WGee1: i mean really torah observant... Rpm5700: i agree....but they do...or did...still??...some members do Rpm5700: yes. Sma61: RPm, it's their mission. WGee1: do u keep kashrut? Zhukov2: I think the official J4J position now is that each new believer should decide for himself Sma61: Well, official position does not equal practice, Zhukov. Rpm5700: i am not familiar with the term..."kashrut"...is there another term to identify the subject? Zhukov2: try Kosher Rp Sma61: Kosher - dietary laws. Obviously, conversion to christianity does not render a Jew any more knowledgeable about Judaism or our history than the average human being on this earth. To be continued. . . .
