I remember having met Meir Kahane twice, while in Israel, in 1979-1980.
What
amazes me about some of the letters you have posted is how some people
make hate their hobby. I do not hate Arabs or Muslims. They have
their ancestral homeland, and Jews have theirs. When I was in
Hebrew school, as a child, I was always taught that Muslims and Arabs
were our cousins through Abraham, and that they were monotheists who,
essentially believed in the same God as we did. I was also taught that
it was permissible for Jews to pray in a Mosque, but not in a church,
since Christians really have no connection (a forced unwanted grafted
branch) with Avraham, and besides, no matter what Christian apologists
say, (except for the Unitarians) they believe in some pagan tri-partite
conceptualization of God. The Christians tend to pick and choose
what they will adhere to, and in fact, Deuteronomy 13:1-10 both
predicts and condemns Christianity.
In any case, the Holocaust was
real. The suffering of American Black folk under slavery was real and
tragic. The slaughter of Native Americans was a real tragic event. The
Armenian genocide was a real event. Those folk who say they are tired
of hearing Jews talk about the Holocaust (or blacks talk about slavery)
are the same people who would be likely to perpetrate similar sorts of
horrors if we all did not constantly remind the world of what happens
when hatred is allowed to grow.
I do not hate Muslims. I am not
happy that the Koran in some places condemns Jews, says untruthful
things about Jews (The Koran claims that Jews believe that Isiah was a
son of God; no Jew ever believed or taught that.) In some places
of the Koran, it praises Jews in others it condemns us. I do
think Shi'ia theology is stupid. Waiting for an Occulted Imam is crazy.
I think Wahabi'ism is craziness and repressive. Sunnis in general are
not bad people. On the other hand, I have never heard of a Muslim Sufi
ever making any statement of hate towards anyone. I have never heard of
any Sufi para-military forces killing civilians, or of any Sufis
hijacking airplanes. If all Sunni and Shi'ia Muslims became Sufi
Muslims, the world would be a better place very quickly.
The
Koran does lie, though. Abraham did not take Ishmael for sacrifice.
And, Abraham did not go to Saudi Arabia, to the Kaaba. A basic
tenet of Islam is that Jews and Christians modified their own holy
books, and that the Koran, which as written down about 1200 years after
the Torah was formalized, somehow is not accurate, yet, the Koran
written 1200 or so years later, is more accurate. The Koran is filled
with Midrash stories from Rabbis which Mohamed heard and then
repeated. Despite all of this, I do not hate Muslims. I do
believe their religion (except for the Sufi form of it) does promote
intolerance and hatred. One can see that in the history and development
of Muslim hegenomy in the Middle East.
In any event, no Jew
should be a nebesh or a coward. We have the right to defend
ourselves. The Palestinians already have a homeland, it is
called Trans-Jordanian Palestine. Jordan is their homeland.

the right of Americans to have a full and unbridled discussion with
him. I believe the separation of Church (religion) and State is a
foreign concept to Israel and organizations like yours. You can

of my life I have supported Israel and the Jews. I was raised Christian

a high school teacher (Eastern Commerce C.I.) I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH

was
so effective! I and 3 others from my school thanked the young people
outside personally. Our thanks to them again for a job so well done. I
