In light of the fact that the USPS has bestowed this honor on this controversial (at best) black leader, the Jewish Defense League asks its members and supporters to back our efforts to honor Jewish Defense League founder and leader, Rabbi Meir Kahane, with a USPS stamp in his memory. Rabbi Kahane, who was murdered in 1990 by the same Arab terrorists who blew up the World Trade Center in New York, is a far more deserving person to be honored in this fashion. He was a dedicated Jew, patriotic American, and Israeli parliament member. Rabbi Kahane changed the course of Jewish history, having been instrumental in achieving the freedom of hundreds of thousands of Soviet Jews. If ever someone deserved USPS recognition, then Rabbi Kahane is that person. Here's how you can help JDL get Rabbi Kahane selected for a United States postal stamp: Send a letter nominating Rabbi Kahane to the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee, c/o Stamp Management, U.S. Postal Service, 475 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Room 4474EB, Washington, DC 20260-6756.
