Armchair Activist: Reach Out and Write AT&T

Posted October 14, 2001

JDL has been informed that anti-Israel groups are urging their members to write to AT&T to protest the use of the words "Jerusalem, Israel" in an AT&T commercial that is currently airing. Please help us counter this campaign.

Thus, it's very important that you write AT&T that the United States Congress recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Passed in 1995, U.S. Public Law 104-45, the Jerusalem Embassy Act, reaffirmed that "Since 1950, the city of Jerusalem has been the capital of the State of Israel." Tell them their commercial is fine the way it is and they should not buckle under Arab pressure.

Because the anti-Israel activists are writing many letters to AT&T, please make sure you differentiate your letter from theirs right away. Make your view clear in the subject line. For example, write "Keep Jerusalem, Israel in commercials" or "Jerusalem IS in Israel."

Submit your comments to AT&T online.
