On April 30th, fifty members of the Jewish Defense League allied with half a dozen members of the Libertarian party confronted Patrick Buchanan and his so-called "Buchanan Brigades" at 1823 Foothill Blvd in the city of La Canada.

At a palatial estate, 1000 adoring fans of this filthy antisemite had to walk by the angry JDL members and a Libertarian contingent. The JDL and its allies, armed only with megaphones and signs, appealed to those people not to support this demagogue because of the numerous antisemitic statements made by Buchanan. Numerous people extended the middle finger and antisemitic remarks were plentiful. Due to the overwhelming police presence, and discretion being the better part of valor, the league was forced to continue its protest in a peaceful manner.

The protest was covered by three media sources, LA Daily News, Pasadena Star News, and National Public Radio. JDL's International Chairman, Irv Rubin, explained to the media the purpose of the protest was to stand up to Jew hatred - whatever its manifestation. Even though Buchanan is no threat to occupy the White House, he continues to campaign for the presidential nomination of what appears to be a severely wounded Reform Party. Ironically, numerous past supporters of JDL and even some present members decided that Buchanan was the only solution to the illegal alien invasion coming from our southern border. We desperately tried to communicate to those people that the only way to solve this problem is not by racism but by convincing our fellow Americans to stop hiring illegal aliens.

The JDL was shocked to see none other than famous scientist and Jew Sam Cohen, one of the speakers at the rally, who contradicted us by stating his belief that Buchanan is not a Jew hater. Cohen stated Buchanan's isolationist agenda was essential to the security of this great country. What motivates a Sam Cohen to adopt this self destructive attitude? Cohen, the father of the Neutron Bomb, is filled with self hatred. According to past conversations between International Chairman Irv Rubin and Cohen, Cohen stated that he was deeply ashamed of Jews in the 1940s who worked on the Manhattan Project and betrayed this country. Not only is he referring to the infamous Rosenberg Case but also to other Jews who were pro Communist and who turned over secrets to the Soviet Union. JDL in the past tried to convince Cohen that not all Jews are left wing - we despise Communism as much as he does. He still maintains that we have to support Pat Buchanan to show the patriotic people in America that we are not pro Communist. JDL sadly concludes that Sam Cohen may be a lost individual to the Jewish people. His self hatred is beyond repair.
