Action: JDL Calls for Demonstrations Against Jimmy Carter

Author Deserves Public Bashing for Lying

Posted December 10, 2006

By now most people are aware that Jimmy Carter, arguably the worst President of the United States in the last 100 years, has written a book, Palestine: Peace not Apartheid, that has been widely condemned as misleading and fallacious. We believe this book is the work of a Jew-hater. Carter is now embarking on a book signing tour to promote the book, which puts the blame on Israel for the problems with Arabs in the Middle East.

Carter’s book is so misleading and dishonest that respected historian Dr. Kenneth Stein, former Carter aide and the first executive director of the Carter Center of Emory University, tendered his resignation from the Center last week. In his open letter, Stein commented that he could not even mention Carter’s book by name because it has “a title too inflammatory to even print.” Stein continued, “Aside from the one-sided nature of the book, meant to provoke, there are recollections cited from meetings where I was the third person in the room, and my notes of those meetings show little similarity to points claimed in the book.”

Jewish Defense League members and supporters are being asked to join with other friends of the State of Israel and the Jewish people to protest Carter’s appearances across the country. Participants are asked to bring Israeli flags to wave and posters that reflect the anger and frustration over a former President who is so unethical and deceitful as to change historical fact to support his position. Carter will be appearing this week at the following locations.

Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 - 7 p.m. (protest starts 6 p.m.)
Vroman’s, 695 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101 (626-449-5320)
